17TH World Congress on Road Winter Service, Resilience and Decarbonisation - Pre-proceedings of the Congress

Foresight session 4 - SIRWEC Conference Part 1

Wednesday, March 11 14:00 - 15:30
Chair: Lee Chapman, SIRWEC Secretary, United Kingdom
Room: Room 5

The Standing International Road Weather Conference has been held every two years since 1984. For much of that time, every other event had been co-located with PIARC, but this connection has recently been lost. This foresight session is designed to re-establish that connection by embedding SIRWEC 2026 as a ‘mini conference within a conference’ here in Chambery 2026.

Our mini conference is held over two sessions with each containing solicited presentations from SIRWEC colleagues. This first session loosely focuses on advances on road weather forecasting.
