This session will address the following three key issues:
1. The use of safety planning in implementing the Safe System Approach
2. Approaches by LMCIs
3. Considerations for road worker safety
The Safe System Approach requires careful planning and selection of projects in its implementation. This session highlights various action steps towards the goal of reducing road safety causalities to road users and road workers . New approaches are presented related to planning. Presentations include safety action planning, development of a walkability index, speed management planning and road worker safety. Participants from countries of various income levels will present key steps to safety improvement.
