This session will present PIARC's work on rapid impact assessment (RIA) for disaster preparedness and response in the road sector. The session will comprise a presentation on the outcome of the RIA research, together with allied presentations on RIA capacity and practice from practitioners in the USA, UK, France and Nepal. The session will also provide the opportunity for discussion between the authors and Congress delegates.
