Strategic Direction Session on Winter Service - Strategic Aspects of Winter Service

Tuesday, March 10 14:30 - 16:00
Chair: Keiichi TAMURA, Strategic Theme 3 Coordinator, PIARC, Japan
Room: Hall E

This Strategic Direction Session is organized by Keiichi TAMURA, PIARC Strategic Theme 3 Coordinator. It will explore challenges related to winter service and policy directions to address them from both operational and strategic perspectives. The session will also include a report from TC 3.2 on winter service. Presenters have been selected to ensure balanced representation from across the globe.

The Snow and Ice Databook (SIDB) will be featured in this Strategic Direction Session. SIDB is one of PIARC's flagship technical reports, published every four years on the occasion of the World Winter Road Congress. SIDB serves as not only a state-of-the-art report in winter service but also a country report for many PIARC member countries.

This Strategic Direction Session will provide an ideal opportunity to discuss the current practice and future course of winter service in road administration.
