Chair: David PUPPATO, Savoie Prefecture, Director of Security, France
Room: Room 6

[This session will be conducted in French only.]

As the French Alps prepare to host the 2030 Winter Olympics, ensuring reliable winter access to ski resorts and Olympic venues is a key priority. This workshop will explore the strategies, technologies and coordination efforts needed to maintain safe and efficient mobility in the face of challenging alpine weather conditions.

Participants will examine the specific requirements of mountainous terrain, increased traffic and heightened expectations for safety, performance and sustainability. The session will highlight innovative approaches to snow clearance, weather forecasting, interregional collaboration and emergency planning.

With a focus on practical implementation, the workshop will demonstrate how road authorities, local authorities and tourism stakeholders are working together to ensure smooth access, even during peak winter periods and major international events.
